A wool puddle pad is naturally resistant to moisture and the only organic alternative to dangerous plastic mattress covers made using vinyl chloride, a well documented carcinogen.

Wool is naturally anti-bacterial so washing is needed very infrequently. Most of the time, hanging it on a line to air out will get rid of any odors or bacteria. Just make sure you wash the wool puddle pad in cold water.
