Milk & Honey Soap

Today we are sharing a different type of recipe, but it is one that we think you will really enjoy.  Get ready to enjoy some wonderful homemade milk & honey soap!  Making soap isn't nearly as complicated as you might think, and this recipe is so easy that even a beginner can make it.  With just a few ingredients, you can make all natural soap that your whole family (and friends) will enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound of Goat's milk soap base
  • silicone honeycomb mold
  • 3 Tablespoons organic raw honey
  • 4 Cup Pyrex glass measuring cup
  • yellow & red soap colorant (optional)
Instructions

  1. Slice the soap base into cubes, place them inside a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup, and melt in the microwave.  Melt in 20-30 second increments, stirring well after each microwave session, to ensure that the soap is completely melted. For 1 lb of soap, generally microwave for 30 seconds, stir, microwave for another 30 seconds, stir again, and microwave a final time for 20 seconds.
  2. When the soap is completely melted, stir in 3 tablespoons of honey and a few drops of  yellow soap colorant.  Add in food coloring to make desired color
  3. Pour the melted soap into the honeycomb mold, and allow to sit undisturbed until cool. The cooling process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on temperature and humidity levels.
