Barn Living

As we have mentioned before, our owner Pam runs Our Green House from a converted barn behind her home in Connecticut.  We love seeing how people use barns on their properties when they don't have horses or livestock, because the structure of a barn lends really well to lots of design possibilities.  Whether a barn is converted into an entire home, or used as an office or quiet retreat, barns allow for lots of unique design options and we love seeing the different ways people use them!

This petite barn was turned into an office and in our opinion it is beyond perfection.   It would be pretty darn easy to stay inspired working in a place like this!

We love how this barn was converted into an actual home!  The wrap around porch gives it a real 'house' feel while still keeping the overall look of a barn.

Keeping the original shiplap on the wall in this stunning room was such a great way to stay true to the concept of a barn.

This stunning kitchen with all the original barn beams has such warmth and character.  Imagine cooking up a delicious meal and hosting guests for a cozy diner party?!

The juxtaposition of elegant furniture against natural wood beams mae this space swoon worthy.  The natural light is beyond perfection with the neutral color palette.

There is something so special about converted barns and we love that Our Green House gets to work from a barn of our own every day!
